to see how the general populace feels about our B’s. Its awful quiet…just
like last night’s performance.
If anyone with connections is reading this (wink, wink) I think it is
obvious that at least most of us in here, as fans, would like nothing more
than to cheer this team’s performance…but this past 15 games or so have
been in large part, miserable.
We cannot cheer flat, listless, uncaring performances. I would rather a
team lose with pride, and go down fighting than to just lay down. And that
is *exactly* what the B’s have done.
There is a serious flaw on this team. I cannot put my finger on it (I think
that would fall under O’C job description) and it needs to be addressed.
This season is going no where fast.

Simply put, we *need* more ice girls!

At least they’d help us forget how bad the Bruins are playing. Too bad they
don’t show them on tv.

I’ve been a B’s fan since birth, but they’ve finally driven me to the point
where I can no longer invest any emotional interest into the team. I used
to hang on every minute of every game. Now, if I watch the game, it’s only
background noise while I play Vice City or Tiger Woods 2004. And even then
I usually change the channel before the end of the game. If fans like me
(and the rest of you hardcore B’s fans) are loosing interest, that’s sad.
I’m thinking about getting Center Ice now, and following a different team.
I can’t believe I’m even saying this. Unfortunately, my second favorite
team growing up (North Stars) are gone.

You’re not missing much.
Bruins72 2012-07-13 10:20:50
Total Quad here! I’ve been the most die-hard Bruins fan out of everyone I
know for years now. Lately, I just haven’t had my heart in it like before. I
think I’ve watch 2 or 3 games so far this month. I used to plan things
around the Bruins (wouldn’t go on a date on a game night or do anything at
all on a game night) but lately I haven’t had to think twice. Anything is
better than staying in and watching the game. Why should I put my heart into
it when the team isn’t putting their hearts into it?
BTW, if you’re looking for a good PS2 game, check out True Crime: Streets of
LA. I’ve been playing that one for a couple of weeks now (instead of
watching the Bruins). It’s like a combination of Vice City and Maxx Payne.
Great graphics and gameplay but the soundtrack is all rap (the one

I’m feeling about the same way – just numb. Felt this way from January
on last year. Disgust has set in, and am seriously hoping they do
something dramatic. I really couldn’t care less about the “core”
For all I care, they could trade Samsonov, Murray and Thornton and I
would barely blink an eye. People would call this an overreaction, but
like it could get worse? No…I’m sorry, it can’t. A team that sizzles
and wins then flames out in dramatic fashion two years in a row with
decent talent is not worthy of my emotion.
I am committed via having some tickets in hand, and that depresses me
even more. What a waste of time. I don’t care as much about the money
I spent, it’s the thought I might actually go to these games, spend 2
hrs watching uninspired players go through the motions.
The timing for a lockout/strike is perfect. It will send me back to
reality and I will walk away from this team. I did it once and got
sucked back in, but it will be much easier this time.
Bruins72 2012-07-13 10:20:55
I saw them at the Fleet. They were cute. Definately a nice distraction
Disillusioned 2012-07-13 10:20:57
I’ve been interested in hearing what someone though of that game. My first
though after seeing the commercials was that it was just a Vice City rip
off. Sounds cool though. I’ll have to see if there’s a PC version. I
don’t have a PS2.
Disillusioned 2012-07-13 10:21:00
I was actually looking at the lockout/strike timing the other way. Maybe
missing a chunk of next season will rekindle my interest again. I really do
want to give a $#!+, but I just can’t anymore. All I can hope for is a
major shake up that has some lasting effects on these guys. Until then,
I’ll just play some pond hockey and try to catch some college games.
At least my fantasy team is doing well 😛
Bruins72 2012-07-13 10:21:02
It’s pretty cool. You drive around and do missions (like Vice City) but you
can also respond to crimes reported over the radio. You also have to stay
aware of your Good/Bad rating. Doing things like running over pedestrians or
shoot criminals dead will go towards bad. If you bust criminals or take out
the bad guys using shots to the arm or leg (or play it safe by fighting hand
to hand when you can) it will count towards good. There is a nice balance
between driving and on foot. There is also a nice balance between shooting
and hand to hand fighting. Over the course of the game you can train in
driving, shooting, and fighting to allow you to do different things (like
fighting moves or shooting techniques).
I’m not sure if it’s out on PC or not. If it’s not, it could end up being
ported to PC if the sales are good enough. I think X-Box might have it too.
Bruins72 2012-07-13 10:21:04
D*** you and your commanding lead! I’m hanging in there at #5 but I have a
feeling I’m going to take a beating over the next few weeks and lose some
Bitter beezy 2012-07-13 10:21:10
And that’s another thing….I am getting cooked every other week.
Injury bug has hurt my team, with more freaking groin and shoulder
problems. I was ill prepared in knowing how the game works and am
paying for it now.
Bitter beezy 2012-07-13 10:21:12
I know it’s just my taste, but they are pretty skanky. Once I see a
tattoo, I think “s****”, and more than half of them have the lower
back tat. Or maybe I am just “bitter” about the performance on the
ice. I have seen 4 shutouts at home and in the last 4 games I have
been to, they have been out scored 15-3. I am usually not in a good
mood when the ice girls take the ice.
Not that I am there to bring them home to meet my mom, but I’d almost
rather watch the morons on the jumbotron.
Bruins72 2012-07-13 10:21:16
I had been pretty lucky with avoiding injuries up until recently. I was
getting by on dumb luck for the most part. I made a couple of crappy draft
picks and had some guys that are underperforming that were drafted high. At
the time I thought I made some good gambles on rookies but now those guys
are coming down to much less impressive levels (Jillson and King for
Dumb luck had carried me this far but the luck is running out and only the
dumb is left. I’m sure I’ll drop to the middle of the pack over the next
month. It’s still not bad considering this is my first fantasy hockey team.
Disillusioned 2012-07-13 10:21:18
Actually, my ‘commanding’ lead is only 13 pts. And we’re only half way
through. With injuries and all, anything could still happen.
Bruins72 2012-07-16 12:29:49
You said it. You’re bitter! 😛
It might be a generation thing too. I don’t mind some tattoos on women. It
all depends on where and what. Those lower back ones are pretty common on
younger women now. It used to be just the strippers that had those lower
back ones, now they all have them. I’ve heard them referred to as
“handle-bars” before. I can get past it. The thing that will turn me off is
the facial piercings (lip, eyebrow, nose, and all that). Bleh!
There’s never a short supply of morons at the Fleet.
Bruins72 2012-07-16 12:29:52
Yeah, that’s true. Plus Thornton’s All-Stars is in 2nd place and they’ve
been a strong team all year. I guess the “commaning lead” comment was coming
from the perspective of being 29 points behind you.
As long as it’s not Scott E leading the league… 😉
Disillusioned 2012-07-16 12:29:54
Even that’s doable. It all depends on injuries. Especially in goal. On
the goaltending note, I’m betting there’s a lot of teams who don’t make the
minimum starts this week because of the holiday break.
True that!!! Hahaha.
Bitter beezy 2012-07-16 12:29:57
Holy c***…now I’m on the older generation. And IIRC, only 7 years
older than you. Give me a wheelchair.
Thanks for brightening my day.
(just kidding, you snot nosed smart a**!)….
Bruins72 2012-07-16 12:30:03
I was setting my lines for the week ahead of time (due to my holiday
schedule, probably won’t be near a computer from Wednesday night till Sunday
night) and I had the same thought about goalie minimums. The schedule was
looking awful light this week. It could be interesting. With my luck, I’ll
probably get two shutouts but not 3 games.
I only say that because he’s Eeeeeeviiiiiil!
Bruins72 2012-07-16 12:30:06
Seven years! D***, Gramps! You mean that what I’ve got to look forward to?
Somebody kill me now! 😉
Wow, you old folks sure are crotchedy! Did somewhat forget their Metamucil
Okay… so I’m immature for my age and I’m clinging to that for dear life. I
just hit 31 today so I needed to deflect some of the old age towards some
unsuspecting target. Thanks for the bullseye.
D***, I’m bored! Work is slooooooow today!
Bitter beezy 2012-07-16 12:30:19
You know…when you get to my age…you’ll “need a little help
staying in the game”. I think I’ll go throw a football through a tire.
Bruins72 2012-07-16 12:30:21
LOL! What was Joe Namath mixing with his Metamucil the other night?
